“Let’s see. I don’t think anyone would try to humiliate you again,” Jackson said nonchalantly. He gazed at Serenity with a gentle look on his face, smiling. “Besides, I’m all yours. What’s the big deal about this?”

“If you really care, how about I let someone else be more embarrassed than you? Then you won’t have to worry about it,” Jackson said leisurely.
Serenity did not know how to react. Besides, that was not the point at all.
Soon, the car arrived at the venue for the trade show. Serenity had done her research before. Surely, many famous entrepreneurs from Solaria and other cities would attend the trade show.
Trade shows such as this could promote cooperation and help many entrepreneurs expand their networks. The minimum requirement to receive an invitation to the trade show was set relatively high. Many small and medium–sized business owners could not obtain the invitation. Some people would even pay high prices to purchase an invitation online. After all, it was very important to have connections in business.
Many small and medium–sized business owners really wanted to get an invitation letter. They wanted to participate in the trade show and get acquainted with the usually hard–to–approach big names.
Serenity was a little puzzled. Jackson did not enjoy attending events like this unless necessary.
Feeling curious, she asked, “Did you come here today to meet someone?” It was all she could think of right now.
“I heard Wendy Hale is going to be here today. She’s been abroad, but now she’s planning to set up a law firm in Solaria,” Jackson explained.
Serenity realized with a start that Jackson had brought her here to give her a chance to meet Wendy Hale.
Serenity had admired Wendy Hale since her university days. Wendy was a female lawyer and a prominent figure in the legal industry. Wendy was based overseas and mostly stayed abroad. Most of the lawsuits she handled were in foreign countries. Serenity had never met Wendy in person before. She never thought that she would meet her in a place like this.
“But how did you know I wanted to meet Wendy?” Serenity asked curiously. She was a big fan of Wendy’s and had read many of Wendy’s cases.
“Whenever you read your law books, you’d spend more time reading Wendy’s cases carefully. You’ve made a lot of notes too. When you read the news about Wendy’s return to Solaria, didn’t you say it’d be nice to meet her?” Jackson said.
Serenity did not expect him to notice such details.
Wendy Hale. The idol Serenity had admired since she was studying law. She had once hoped to become a female lawyer like Wendy. Although she aspired to be a prominent female lawyer in the legal industry, she had gotten involved in the accident lawsuit and had her lawyer’s license revoked instead. Years later, she had finally overturned the case and gotten her license back.
Serenity suddenly caught a glimpse of two familiar figures while lost in thought, and she stiffened.
Jackson stood beside her and naturally sensed her strange reaction. Jackson followed her gaze and saw a couple casually
chatting with other guests not far away. It was Zeke Shaw and Jenny Hall.
“What’s wrong? Are you still bothered by them?” Jackson asked in a whisper.
Serenity’s hands trembled slightly. The sight of Jenny and Zeke would always make her fingers ache again.
